SOUTHEASTERN NC Over the weekend the FDA approved the Johnson & Johnson vaccine for emergency use. It now awaits approval from the CDC for distribution. Once that happens, the nation will be gearing up for more supply, as almost 4 million doses will be available immediately, upping vaccine supply to states by 25%. Doses could increase by 20 million by the end of March.
Gov. Roy Cooper and N.C.’s top health official, Mandy Cohen, addressed the one-dose shot at last week’s press conference, saying more information will be communicated this week upon its possible rollout.

COLUMBUS COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) - It was an undercover FBI operation that went on for well over a year in the early 1980s. Dubbed âColcorâ by federal officials, the far reaching organized crime scandal shocked the community. Betweeen Colcor and Operation Gateway, a neighboring federal investigation in Brunswick County going on at the same time, about a dozen high profile government officials found themselves under arrest, along with dozens of other citizens caught up in the crime ring.

Lamar McDow, 36, filed his first complaint against Holmes in Brunswick County Superior Court asserting claims for breach of fiduciary duty, conversion, and breach of bailment on Oct. 19, 2018, according to a motion to dismiss filed by Holmes. That complaint was voluntarily dismissed by McDow on June 25, 2019.
McDow tried to revive the same complaint almost a year and a half later when he filed a second complaint against Holmes on Sept. 29, claiming she allegedly gave away personal property that he owned while he is incarcerated.
Holmes filed a notice of removal on Feb. 4 and a motion to dismiss Lamar McDow s claims on Feb. 11.
